Task Force Member Profile

Harry Hoshovsky

Policy Analyst

Harry Hoshovsky has been a Policy Analyst with JINSA’s Gemunder Center for Defense and Strategy since October 2017.

His work at JINSA focuses predominantly on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, paying close attention to Washington’s security relationship with Israel, as well as American efforts to combat Iran’s destabilizing regional activities and its pursuit of a nuclear weapon.

Harry is an in-house expert on the threat posed by ‘hybrid adversaries’ like Hezbollah to Israel, and as such, he played a crucial research and writing role in the publication of the Hybrid Warfare Task Force’s first report, “Israel’s Next Northern War: Operational and Legal Challenges.”

In addition to his research and analysis work, Harry also manages and coordinates the Gemunder Center’s internship program.

Before joining JINSA, Harry was the primary research assistant for the late renowned historian, Prof. Walter Laqueur. He assisted in the research, writing, and editing of Prof. Laqueur’s publications. This includes Prof. Laqueur’s last book “The Future of Terrorism: ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and the Alt-Right,” which was published on July 3, 2018, and a long-form exposition on the longevity of the infamous anti-Semitic screed, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion (Mosaic, December 2017), among other shorter works.

Harry’s professional writings have been published in The Hill and The Tower. For the former, he co-authored a piece with Gemunder Center Associate Director, Jonathan Ruhe, that exposed the collective failure of UNIFIL and Lebanon to bring about Hezbollah’s disarmament. For the latter, Harry examined the historical trends and dynamics of Indo-Israeli foreign policy.

Harry is a graduate of Georgetown University, where he received his Master of Arts in Security Studies. He received his Bachelor of Arts with Joint Honors (with Distinction) from the University of the Witwatersrand, majoring in International Relations and Political Studies.
